Forced to abandon their home, they roamed the reaches of space until they encountered planet Earth. For their fading civilization, it became the last hope. Without engaging in direct contact, they started studying human civilization. A symbiotic relationship, rather than bloody warfare, seemed to them the best option. Soon, they gained the ability to assume a human form. It seemed like nothing could stop them from assimilating among the inhabitants of Earth and taking their place.

VANGUARD is a special organization formed from the best special agents of Earth. After the discovery of an extraterrestrial race in their own backyard, Earth's governments decided to join forces and present a united shield against a threat humanity had never encountered before. That shield became the organization VANGUARD. Its members are elite agents selected from the world's top intelligence agencies (CIA, MI6, Mossad, BND, DGSE, etc.).
